The clear reservoir of the PDV500-T contains a stainless steel float. When fluid in the reservoir reaches a set point, the float rises and engages a magnetic block. The movement of the block allows a pilot air signal to actuate a pneumatic cylinder that opens a 3/4" full ported ball valve, draining the reservoir. As the fluid level drops, the magnetic block returns to a neutral position, shutting off pilot air to the cylinder. This closes the ball valve before any compressed air can escape.
Unlike conventional float operated auto drains, the PDV-500T uses a full ported ball valve and there are no narrow constrictions where scale and dirt can block operation of the drain. The PDV-500T is the most resilient and reliable no loss air drain available on the market.
