In the compressed air industry, all of the money is made in the aftermarket.  Your air compressor manufacturer probably had a laughably slim margin on the capital equipment sale, but he rested easy knowing that you'd buy high margin parts for the next 15 to 20  years.

You do not owe the compressor OEM a return on this gambit!  Buy aftermarket filter and save big time.

Here is a thinly guarded industry secret: compressor manufacturers do not make their own filters.  They buy filters from a handful of regional and global filter manufacturers.  These filter manufacturers savage each other by producing equivalent filters (i.e. aftermarket or generic) for the OEM brands that they themselves do not directly serve.
